飛騨の伝統的な意匠を取り入れながら、その場所にふさわしい佇まいとして計画した住まいです。立地は神社とお寺に挟まれた静かな環境にあり、周囲の歴史的な雰囲気と調和することを第一に考えました。そのため、単に住宅を建てるのではなく、地域の景観の一部として自然に溶け込むよう、細部まで丁寧に設計しています。

外観には、飛騨の建物に見られる特徴的な意匠である雲の彫刻や雁行（がんよう）、出格子、隅切り窓などを取り入れています。これらは単なる装飾ではなく、伝統的な美しさと実用性を兼ね備えており、建物全体に品格を与えています。また、門や外構の雰囲気も建物と統一することで、敷地全体としての一体感を目指しました。

内部においても、格天井や彫刻、細やかで手の込んだ造りを随所に施しています。こうした意匠は、品格をもたらすとともに、訪れる人に強い印象を与えます。見た目の美しさだけでなく、長く使い続けられる住まいとなるよう、素材や納まりに配慮し仕上げています。

また、構造材のほとんどを大工による手刻みで行いました。木のクセを見極めながら、一本一本を手作業で刻むことで、見えない部分にも確かな技術が息づき、建物全体に品質と付加価値を与えています。

本事例は、飛騨の伝統技術と意匠を活かしながら、立地環境との調和を重視した住まい造りの一例です。建物単体だけでなく、周囲との関係性まで含めて計画することで、長く愛される住まい造りを心がけています。

This residence was designed to incorporate traditional Hida architectural elements while creating a presence appropriate to its setting. Located in a quiet environment between a Shinto shrine and a Buddhist temple, the highest priority was to ensure harmony with the surrounding historic atmosphere. For that reason, rather than simply constructing a house, every detail was carefully designed so that the building would blend naturally into the local landscape as an integral part of the area’s scenery.

The exterior features characteristic design elements seen in Hida architecture, including cloud-shaped carvings, ganyō (staggered decorative detailing), projecting wooden latticework, and chamfered-corner windows. These elements are not merely decorative; they combine traditional beauty with practicality and lend dignity to the entire building. In addition, the gate and exterior landscaping were coordinated with the architecture of the house in order to create a unified impression across the entire property.

The interior also incorporates coffered ceilings, carvings, and finely crafted details throughout. These design features bring a sense of refinement and leave a strong impression on visitors. Attention was given not only to visual beauty, but also to materials and finishing details, so that the home would remain durable and functional for many years to come.

In addition, most of the structural members were hand-cut and shaped by skilled carpenters. By carefully judging the unique characteristics of each piece of timber and working on them one by one by hand, solid craftsmanship lives even in the unseen parts of the building, adding both quality and value to the house as a whole.

This project is an example of homebuilding that makes use of traditional Hida craftsmanship and design while placing great importance on harmony with the surrounding environment. By planning not only the building itself but also its relationship with its surroundings, we strive to create homes that will be cherished for generations.
